As a way to formalise our commitment to corporate social responsibility, Qantas Staff Credit Union has now created a policy which sets out the way in which QSCU conducts itself in relation to our Members, our staff, the community and the environment.
As a mutual, we have always had a strong sense of corporate social responsibility; however this formal policy now reinforces that commitment. To view our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy,

Some of the environmental inititatives we have implemented over the past year are:
- E-statements – Members can now receive their statement online instead of the regular paper version ;
- Green Fleet program, where for every staff vehicle, Green Fleet plants 17 native trees on our behalf. For more information on Green Fleet visit http://www.greenfleet.com.au/
- A form review process has been conducted where less frequently used forms are now available on our staff intranet for staff to print out for Members on a needs basis.
- Our Board of Directors has also been doing their part to save paper by electing to receive their board papers electronically. Each set of board papers can range from 100 pages to 300 pages. Over a year that can add up to huge paper savings of over 10,000 sheets!
Individual Branch programs
- Our Sydney Airport Centre branch introduced a recycling program to enable cardboard, glass, plastic, aluminium and paper to be recycled.
- Our Brisbane office recycles printer cartridges through Planet Ark
- Our Hurstville Head Office and branch has implemented a paper and cardboard recycling program
- From our branches to our head office we have also implemented the use of reusable internal envelopes which also cuts down on paper wastage.
- At all our branches including our Hurstville Head Office, we also have a ‘lights out’ initiative where all lighting throughout our offices are turned off at night and over weekends.
Watch this space for more green initiatives coming soon!
