QSCU enters the Platinum arena

Qantas Staff Credit Union recently launched their new Visa Platinum credit card with Qantas Frequent Flyer points‐ making them the only Credit Union in Australia to currently offer a Visa Platinum credit card.

The stylish card which features the iconic Qantas Kangaroo is loaded with a host of features including 1 Qantas Frequent Flyer point for every $1 spent on eligible purchases. Vipin Kalra, Visa Country Manager, is thrilled to see a Credit Union entering the Visa Platinum credit card space in Australia. “Visa congratulates Qantas Staff Credit Union on becoming the first Credit Union in Australia to launch a Visa Platinum credit card. Their new Visa Platinum credit card is packed with benefits and rewards that will make it a popular choice for cardholders,” Mr Kalra said.

To celebrate the launch of the new card, Qantas Staff Credit Union are running a promotion until the end of the year, whereby new cardholders can earn up to 30,000 bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points by simply using their card for their everyday purchases in the first five months.

1Credit is provided by Qantas Staff Credit Union (QSCU) ABN 53 087 650 557 AFSL/ACL 238 305. QSCU is the issuer and administrator of the Visa Platinum Reward Card and is a credit provider and credit licensee under the National Consumer Credit Laws. Qantas receives payment from QSCU for points issued for use of this credit card. Qantas Frequent Flyer points and bonus points accrue in accordance with and subject to the QSCU Visa Platinum Reward Terms and Conditions. Points are earned on eligible purchases only ‐ no points are earned on balance transfers, cash advances and other ineligible transactions. Cardholder must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program and provide Cardholder’s valid membership number to QSCU in order to earn and redeem points. Membership and points are subject to the terms and conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program available at qantas.com/frequentflyer. 2New cardholders who apply and are approved and activate their cards by 31 December 2012 will receive 5,000 points in the month the card is issued and if they make an eligible purchase with their card each month for the next 5 months, they will earn an additional 5,000 bonus points per month. If the cardholder does not make an eligible purchase with the card, the cardholder will forfeit their points for that month and all remaining months.

3QSCU, the insured, has entered into a Group Policy for overseas travel insurance with Allianz Australia Insurance Limited ABN 15 000 122 850 AFS Licence No. 234708 (Allianz), the insurer. This insurance is issued and managed by AGA Assistance Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 52 097 227 177, AFSL 245631) trading as Allianz Global Assistance for the insurer. The benefit of the cover under the Group Policy is extended automatically to QSCU Visa Platinum cardholders where certain eligibility criteria are met (eligible cardholders). Eligible cardholders do not have their own policy or enter into a contract of insurance with Allianz. Subject to certain terms and conditions, they have the right to recover the amount of their loss from Allianz solely by operation of section 48 of the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 (Cth). QSCU is not the agent of Allianz or the eligible cardholders, does not provide any advice and does not receive any commission in relation to the cover.
