On Tuesday 16 August, QSCU presented the Qantas Foundation with a cheque for $20,000- helping the foundation make a significant difference to charitable initiatives.
The money was raised during May and June when QSCU pledged to give the Qantas Foundation $100 for every Qantas employee who switched their home loan to QSCU as part of the Home Loan Challenge.
“It was great to see so many Qantas employees getting behind this initiative- and making the switch,” said Cindy Hansen, QSCU’s General Counsel and Company Secretary.
“QSCU is very passionate about supporting Qantas, our Members and the wider community as much as we can- we’re very pleased to be handing over $20,000 to the Qantas Foundation to help them continue the outstanding work they do,” Ms Hansen added.
This is not the first time this year QSCU has partnered with the Qantas Foundation to raise money for a worthy cause. On Valentine’s Day this year, QSCU helped raise money for the Qantas Foundation’s Queensland Flood Appeal.
Georgina Gaussen, CEO Qantas Foundation appreciates the efforts of QSCU, “Our partnership with the Qantas Credit Union has been invaluable in 2011, and we look forward to working closely with them in future initiatives”.
